Kitchen Manager — Square Peg Pizzeria (Preston) Full Time We're not really in the food business. We're in the business of making people feel something good enough to come back for. Every pizza that leaves your kitchen is somebody's date night, their kid's birthday, their "long week, needed this" dinner. The Kitchen Manager is the person who makes sure that plate — every single one, every single night — earns that trust. This role matters because the guest never sees the kitchen, but they feel it in every bite and every minute they wait. What you'll actually do: - Run the line during every peak — expediting, inspecting, and jumping in when it gets hot - Coach your crew in real time: praise loud, correct quiet, never in front of guests - Know your numbers — food cost %, waste, ticket times — and actually use them, not just report them - Run a tight pre-shift in under 5 minutes that sets the tone for the whole night - Own ordering, inventory, and par levels so we never run out or over-order - Keep the kitchen inspection-ready every single day — health code and cleanliness aren't a "when we have time" thing - Build the schedule with labor cost in mind, without shorting the line - When something goes out wrong, you fix the plate AND the process that let it happen Who thrives here: You're the person who stays calm when four tickets hit at once and the fryer goes down — you re-prioritize, grab a station, and lead from the line instead of yelling from the office. You take pride in a clean walk-in the same way you take pride in a perfect pie. You think about waste and portioning constantly, but never at the expense of the plate — you know cutting corners costs more than it saves. You correct people like you'd want to be corrected, and you celebrate wins out loud. You don't panic, you don't blame the crew, and you don't check out when it gets hard — that's exactly when you show up more. If you've got the experience but not the mindset, this probably isn't your spot. If you've got the mindset and are still building the experience, we want to talk to you. Ready to run a kitchen that people actually talk about? Apply now — tell us about a shift that went sideways and how you brought it back. That story tells us more than your resume will.
