Square Peg Pizzeria (Plainville) is hiring a Manager We're not really in the pizza business. We're in the business of making people feel like regulars from the first bite — and that starts with whoever's running the floor. This isn't a desk job or a back-office gig. We need someone who lives on the floor, reads the room, and makes guests want to come back next Friday. WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO - Be on the floor for every peak — not in the office, not in the walk-in - Hit as many tables as possible; always make a point to greet first-timers yourself - Thank every guest personally on the way out — not a wave, an actual "thank you" - Coach in real time: catch the good and fix the off, right when it happens - Log every bounce-back conversation (a comp, a recovery, a promise made) and actually follow through - Know your numbers cold — sales, labor %, discount % — every shift, not just at month-end - Run a pre-shift in under 5 minutes that actually sets the team up, not a ramble - Understand scheduling and labor cost well enough to staff a shift smart - Know exactly where the line is on discounts — and when it's time to call the owner - Know your block — what's happening next door, who's opening up the street, what's pulling foot traffic this week WHO THRIVES HERE You treat this place like it's yours — because on your shift, it is. You don't walk past a dirty table or a guest who looks lost. You're direct with your team but never disrespectful — you coach the standard, not the person, and you do it in private when it's a correction and out loud when it's a win. When something goes sideways between a guest and a staff member, you don't pick a side on instinct — you ask questions, you get the real story, and you protect the guest experience without throwing your people under the bus. You notice things: the couple who went quiet, the regular who just walked in, the new server who's nervous. You say something. You fix it before anyone has to ask. You take pride in a clean pass, a fast table turn, a guest who leaves smiling — and you want your team to feel that pride too. If you've got restaurant management experience, great. If you've got the instinct and the ownership mindset and you're ready to learn our systems, we want to talk to you too. TYPE: Full-time HOW TO APPLY Tell us about a time you had to fix something a guest was upset about — what you did, and how it ended. Send that, along with your resume, to [email/link]. We read every one. If this sounds like your kind of floor, we'd love to meet you.
