Square Peg Pizzeria is looking for a Manager. We're in the business of making people feel like they matter the second they walk in, and making sure they come back. Pizza's just how we do it. Whoever runs our floor sets the temperature for every guest and every teammate in the building — that's the job. WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO - Be ON the floor during every peak — not in the office, not in the back office doing paperwork while we're slammed - Engage every table you can reach, and make a point of catching first-timers — they decide whether we ever see them again - Thank every guest personally on their way out. Every one. Every time. - Coach in real time — catch the great moment and name it, catch the miss and fix it fast and kindly - Log every bounce-back interaction (recovered complaints, promised follow-ups) and actually follow through — a promise to a guest doesn't end when they leave - Run a pre-shift in under 5 minutes — what's 86'd, who's covering what, tonight's one focus - Know your numbers cold: daily sales targets, labor %, discount % — and know when a discount needs the owner's sign-off, no guessing - Build and read the schedule with labor cost in mind, not just filling shifts - Know the neighborhood — what's happening a few blocks out, who's got an event tonight, what the competition's doing — because the best managers never get caught off guard by a slow or slammed night WHO THRIVES HERE You treat this place like you own it — because for the hours you're here, you basically do. You notice the spill before someone asks, the regular who hasn't been greeted yet, the new hire who nailed a table and deserves to hear it. You're direct but respectful when you correct someone — focused on the standard, never on tearing a person down in front of their coworkers. When something goes sideways between a guest and a team member, you investigate before you decide — you protect the guest experience without ever throwing your staff under the bus. You lead with your presence, not your title. You don't need a resume stacked with fancy titles. You need to genuinely like people, believe hospitality is a craft worth being great at, and want a team that feels like yours to build. DETAILS Full-time. Real growth path, real say in how this place runs, a team that's proud of what we do and wants a leader worth following. If that sounds like you — not "customer service experience," but an actual feel for making people's night — apply now. Tell us about a time you turned a bad moment into a guest who came back. That's the only resume line we really care about.
