Prep Cook

Prep Cook — Square Peg Pizzeria, Delray Beach Every great pizza night starts hours before a guest ever walks through our door — and that's where you come in. At Square Peg, we're not just making dough and sauce; we're setting up the whole team to send out someone's favorite meal of the week. A perfectly diced onion, a properly stretched dough ball, a station that's stocked and spotless — that's what lets our cooks move fast and our guests have a night they'll come back for. This role matters more than people think. What you'll actually do: • Prep dough, sauces, toppings, and specials to our exact recipes — consistency is the whole game • Keep your station stocked, labeled, and spotless before, during, and after the rush • Follow food safety and allergen protocols every time, no shortcuts • Taste as you go — if it's not right, fix it before it hits the line • Communicate with the kitchen team about what's running low, what's 86'd, what needs attention • Learn our recipes cold, including the "why" behind each one, not just the steps • Treat every pan, knife, and surface like it's going in front of a guest — because eventually, it is Who thrives here: • Someone who takes pride in the small, unglamorous stuff — a clean station, a perfect dice, a labeled bin • Someone who shows up on time, every time, because the whole kitchen depends on it • A person who can take direction, ask questions, and get better every single shift • Someone who believes there's no "just" prep — what you do before 5pm is why dinner service works • A calm head when it gets busy, and a team player who helps the person next to them • Bonus points if you've got kitchen experience, but mindset beats resume every time This is a job for someone who wants to own their corner of the kitchen like it's their name on the sign out front — because at Square Peg, it kind of is. Ready to be part of it? Apply now — tell us about a time you took pride in doing something right, even when no one was watching. We read every application, and we're excited to meet you.
